Find out what its like to be a Financial Reporting Analyst

When I was looking for a place to start my professional career, I knew I wanted to choose a company whose values aligned to mine – and that was Barclays. I think that the bank’s values are a combination of traits that we should all strive for on a daily basis. That, the atmosphere and the opportunities sold me on Barclays from day one of my internship.

Over the course of that first programme, I honed so many skills and developed new ones, formed strong relationships, and expanded my network – and I smiled and laughed the entire way through. The supportive community and abundant resources at Barclays were unlike anything I’d ever experienced before. When I looked back on how much I’d progressed and grown in just 10 weeks, I knew that Barclays was the perfect fit, so when it came to accepting my full-time offer as a graduate it was a no-brainer for me.

The people you meet in Finance are so knowledgeable and friendly, and this is the same case firm-wide. I’m never hesitant to reach out to someone regarding their role and what they do because everyone is so willing to take time out of their day to chat with you. The Barclays community has so much to offer when it comes to talent, so networking within your division and beyond is one of the best possible things you can do.

The best part of my journey with Barclays is the growth I’ve experienced, both professionally and personally. When I reflect on my progress from when I started as an intern to now as a full-time analyst, I’m truly astonished. Whether it be the skillset I’ve acquired, the relationships I’ve formed, or the memories I’ve made, I know these are all things I’m going to take with me throughout my professional career. Barclays has truly shaped me into the person I am today, and for that I am forever grateful.
