As a Barclays Lab Manager, you’ll assist the Eagle Lab site and Eco-system Manager, ensuring the environment is fully functional and conducive to co-working, collaboration and creation by members and visitors. For this role, you’ll curate an ecosystem of key stakeholders in the private, public & educational sectors to bring together entrepreneurs, high growth start-ups, disruptive innovators & larger organizations across industries to team up, accelerate growth & co-create growth opportunities for both Barclays and the business ecosystem.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?
•    Assisting the Ecosystem Manager to become the ‘go to’ contacts in the local Personal and High Growth community, measured through eagle lab activities and impact 
•    Developing and maintaining internal and external relationships in line with the decided digital strategy to remain at the forefront of emerging and innovative technologies
•    Identifying ways to help residents through Intervention opportunities and use of innovations, and asses’ referrals to other business areas to assist our residents
•    Managing day-to-day operations in the Lab, including hosting, guiding visitors, ensuring that the Lab is set up to the highest standards, to exceed the needs of all our customer
•    Recognizing trends in digital fabrication, emerging, innovative technologies and identifying costs and benefits with a view to implement these new technologies in the Lab 
•    Learning ways to promote your Eagle Lab externally, treating the lab as your own business and building your own brand as a fabrication expert within the local Ecosystem
•    Creating Go-to customer experiences through industry research and networking to ensure the Eagle Labs are adapting to new innovations, and bringing them to life 
•    Delivering a culture of support and digital collaboration for colleagues and customers through the Eagle Labs, and regularly communicating Barclays digital roadmap

What we’re looking for:
•    Highly effective networker; able to think like an entrepreneur; understand key client needs, able to communicate in their terminology, with creative and agile approach to the role
•    Excellent, oral, written, visual and presentation skills vital, with high levels of creative flair as well as attention to detail required
•    Understands customer journey with the ability to network and build deep and lasting relationships across Barclays business functions as well as senior external client audiences
•    Analytical skills used to measure on going performance, utilising available data to continuously improve service standards and the user experience

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Proven history of assisting businesses through determining key customer problem statements and utilising your value proposition, as differentiator in winning new clients
•    Intellectual curiosity and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, whilst working effectively as part of a wider virtual team
•    Knowledge of the co-working environment, showing the ability to build a network of contacts through Ecosystem Engagement and pro-actively driving business development

Where will you be working?
You will be working from the Eagle Lab, located at the Tramshed Tech site in Cardiff, where you’ll have the chance to meet a number of entrepreneurs and key influencers in your local community.
