Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join Global Economic Scenario (GES) team in Noida, India. The role requires conducting economic research to design plausible stress scenarios used in internal and regulatory capital assessments exercises and manage a team of highly skilled individuals. The successful candidate must be able to rapidly distil complex challenges into practical solutions and have both a solid sense of teamwork and an ability to perform under deadline pressure. 

What will you be doing?
•    Assesses international economic policies and global macroeconomic conditions, stay apprised of economic research, market developments, and outlooks for global markets and apply this knowledge to design plausible scenarios used in internal and regulatory stress testing exercises. 
•    Actively evaluate emerging risk themes in the economy, analyse risks emanating from business activities and formulate Barclays’ risk profile. 
•    Formulate and apply mathematical modelling techniques for stress calculations, produce management information/presentations on shock outcomes suitable for senior stakeholders.
•    Work closely with members of GES team located in London, New York and India and ensure best practices are being followed as they pertain to forecasting and macroeconomic scenario design. 
•    Lead a team of highly skilled individuals, provide mentorship and set clear goals and responsibilities.

What we’re looking for:
•    Experience with economic research and financial markets (including front-office, research, market risk or other supporting markets functions)
•    Familiarity with CCAR, Impairments and ICAAP stress testing scenarios.
•    Excellent writing and communication skills, experienced writer able to deliver narrative documents of high quality. 
•    Exceptionally detail-oriented with the ability to propose and design solutions various viewpoints, summarize and articulate relevant conclusions.
•    Master’s degree in economics, finance, business, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience in forecasting and statistical analysis of macroeconomic and / or financial variables would be considered a plus
•    Rounded knowledge and understanding of various risk types such as market risk, counterparty risk, credit risk, capital risk, operational risk.
