Join us as a summer intern and discover the world of finance and technology. Dive into our culture, engaging in real projects that offer a comprehensive business overview. Select your desired business area for an in-depth introduction, taking on immediate responsibility guided by a mentor and line manager. Forge connections, explore new horizons, and unlock growth opportunities in this 8-10 week journey. Why the Compliance Summer Intern programme?
Compliance is a fascinating, challenging and rewarding place to work. You’ll be joining a team that is absolutely vital to the bank’s operations, doing work that really matters. You’ll protect customers, fight crime, defend our reputation, define how we do business and look to the future. Simply put, without Compliance, Barclays could not operate.
As a summer analyst, you’ll spend the summer with our team, building a solid foundation in Compliance and helping the Group deliver our strategy – in the right way. You’ll either join one of our business-facing teams, supporting a particular business division, or one of our firm-wide core teams, supporting the entire Group. You may:
• Review policy breaches and escalations to identify themes and create recommendations to increase efficiency
• Draft procedures for regulatory disclosures
• Advise colleagues about regulation related to specific products and services
• Help maintain the barrier between private side and public side teams
• Work closely with IT to represent Compliance requirements for new systems
Compliance at Barclays
Acting as guardian for the whole of Barclays means taking on a whole range of important roles. Compliance people research and investigate. We gather, study and analyse complex data from a wide range of sources. We follow leads, identify risks, evaluate threats and predict the trends that will define the future. We’re involved in surveillance and control, product design and implementation. We are tech people, training professionals and communications experts. We are developers, project managers, consultants and administrators. Across all those disciplines, we are problem solvers, finding ways to deliver great outcomes for our business, our colleagues our customers and clients.
What we are looking for:
To be considered for this programme, you must currently be pursuing an undergraduate degree with anticipated graduation year 2025.
Ideally, you would also have:
A passion and enthusiasm to work in technology will help you to thrive and deliver results, no matter what role you are in. You’ll also need to be customer-orientated, full of resilience, drive and spirit, and take pride in a job well done.
