Big Data Development Lead

As a Barclays Big Data Development Lead, you will work in Compliance Technology. As part of the Financial Crime Transformation team, you will have an exciting opportunity to deliver Business Change and Technology transformation to protect the bank, its customers, and its employees, as well as society at large, from the negative effects of Financial Crime.

What you’ll be doing? 
• Looking after a team working in an Agile fashion, on a large enterprise wide Hadoop-based data platform
• Delivering a Business specific outcome and features
• Identifying and resolving production and application development problems
• Understanding of underlying business knowledge to support the product that the team is building
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Operational Risk Framework and Policies and Standards
• Implementing Change Requests (CR) for Business and team
• Adhering to Agile methodology, ensuring requirements documentation complies with Agile and audit standards

What we’re looking for: 
• Proficiency with Agile methodology and hands-on Project Management experience 
• Relevant hands-on experience in data domain with good knowledge on ETL and Big data platforms; Ab Initio/ Informatica, HDFS, Spark, Sqoop, Map reduce, Hbase, Hive, Impala 
• Relevant experience in managing a team with each individual having different skills
• Quick learner; problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks simultaneously and with frequently changing priorities

Skills that will help you in the role: 
• Experience in BFSI domain, HR or Compliance experience is preferred 
• Experience in working on Cloud Infrastructure at an enterprise level
• Exposure to Data Analytics and Machine Learning will be an added advantage
• Familiarity with Tableau, Python or R is a plus
