As a Barclays Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play the role of Senior Application Support Manager and will be directly accountable and responsible for managing applications within the Enterprise Data Platform Function (EDP). This leadership role you will own both service level management as well as support for assigned services within their domain. You will lead a team of technical staff to manage and address technical issues and will be responsible for all aspects of support. Accountable for all aspects of services delivering production stability.

What will you be doing?
• Leading Application & Platform specific technical discussions with IT teams for on-boarding and daily operational governance for stability and availability
• Ensuring all Barclays technology standards are followed
• Engaged with the business to understand their issues and engage with IT teams for permanent fix & issue resolution
• Reviewing Incident, Problem, Change & Events regularly to ensure we understand issues and fix them wherever applicable
• Ensuring no manual activities are introduced in any release or those are automated where deemed necessary
• Conducting resiliency testing regularly to ensure application stability.
• Providing leadership for all Enterprise Data Platform Function owned applications, platforms from a US time zone perspective and work closely with Global Leads
• Working off-hours on-call support will be required for this role on a rotational basis

What we’re looking for:
• Graduate or Post graduate in computer science or related streams.
• Must have prior experience of Production support in the investment banking domain.
• Working experience in Public cloud (AWS, Azure) and Infrastructure components, hypervisor, Tableau, Kubernetes, Docker, containerization & virtualization
• Should have clear understanding or hands on experience of CI/CD pipeline

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Hands on scripting languages like Python, PHP, Shell/Perl or Java scripts. 
• Ability to breakdown complex problems using appropriate design patterns and best practices demonstrating a strong knowledge foundation and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of building automated pipelines that integrate and transport software through reliable, secure, and governed channels from conception to production.
• Able to build a suite of real-time monitoring and automation software that encompass resilient and self-healing platform operations.
