Model Controls Manager

As a Barclays Models, Controls and Oversight Manager your primary focus will be providing pro-active engagement Model Owners on their upcoming model risk actions to prevent/mitigate emerging issues, including issue/observation remediation, model monitoring and model change. You will act as conduit between Model Risk Management (MRM) and Model Owners ensuring compliance with all Group Model Risk Policy and Standard requirements embedding such requirements and updates as communicated by MRM.

What will you be doing?
• Driving the development and maintenance of a robust models governance and controls framework, including identification, assessment and resolution of emerging risks/issues
• Working with MO/MODs and MRM to ensure the MOA Control Environment and Risk Profile Assessment (CERPA) profile is in tolerance as part of the monthly monitoring process 
• Supporting key model oversight committees and senior management reporting, including production of performance and status information eg Wholesale Credit Risk 
• Supporting project related requirements within the team, in particular relating to new model development and implementation 
• Co-coordinating/delivering any training or coaching where there has been a change in policy or process
• Influencing change through the proactive review and challenge of internal processes

What we’re looking for:
• Good knowledge of model management policies and processes as well as regulatory requirements applicable to model risk management
• Proven governance and controls experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across the Bank
• Ability to work with and in cross-functional and virtual teams across locations. Demonstrable track record of great team work and delivery, within and across departmental teams

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience in a risk models and/or related governance and controls environment within a large financial institution
• Familiarity with capital and/or liquidity risks/reporting and/or related key regulatory frameworks.
