Quality Assurance – Markets Chief Controls Office (AVP)
Glasgow


As a Barclays Quality Assurance AVP, you will support the Markets Chief Controls Office Quality Assurance team. The Markets CCO Quality Assurance and Testing team will work with the Markets business to provide informed opinions on the design and operating effectiveness of controls operating within the front office to mitigate material risks. You will challenge control design and operating effectiveness, and partner with business stakeholders to mitigate risk.

What will you be doing?
• Delivering Controls Testing reviews, approve working papers and draft/final reports
• Executing product and thematic control testing reviews across the Markets businesses, challenging control design and operating effectiveness
• Reviewing / Assessing the effectiveness and sustainability of large scale control remediation programs as they are transitioned into production environments
• Agree findings, issues, and remediation plans with key Markets stakeholders
• Partnering with control testing and assurance functions across all 3 Lines of Defence to ensure testing plans are coordinated and seamlessly executed
• Identifying opportunities for the creation and implementation of data led, continuous monitoring control assurance frameworks


What we’re looking for:
• Experience of making strategic and tactical decisions according to business requirements and evolving situations
• Strong relationship building and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence senior stakeholders
• Demonstrable sound decision making and problem solving to ensure delivery in line with stakeholder expectations
• Ability to remain objective is essential – not least when raising issues, and assessing and agreeing actions to resolve

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, are critical to the success of this role
• Good research and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritise, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced environment
• Good organizational, project management, motivational and interpersonal skills, e.g. ability to draft presentations and track actions and work plans
