Lead Data Scientist 
Radbroke

As a Barclays Lead Data Scientist, you will play a key role in the overall development, implementation and embedment of the CCO Data Science and Analytics strategy. This is an exciting new space in which to apply data science and analytics tools and techniques, building a data mind-set across CCO. You will use expert-level Data Science and Analytics experience into the risk profile and control environment, empowering colleagues to proactively manage risk.

What will you be doing?
• Driving the design and execution of the technical elements of the CCO Data Science and Analytics strategy and building a data mind-set across CCO
• Reviewing the current model for data science/analytics engagements, identify, evaluate and implement improvements whilst ensuring appropriate governance
• Identifying opportunities for data science and analytics which will drive enhanced insight into the risk profile and control environment; lead engagement with stakeholders
• You will understand, evaluate and translate control requirements into data science /analytics use-cases
• Being responsible for development of a culture of continual improvement, including delivering new innovative data science and analytics use cases, e.g. predictive analytics
• Identifying potential areas for high value-add collaboration with other data science and analytics teams across Barclays; use this opportunity to share knowledge and upskill the teams
• Mentoring and training junior team members and CCO Data Analytics specialists in basic and advanced data science and analytics techniques

What we’re looking for:
• Expertise with the Python Data Science stack, including libraries such as Scikit-learn, Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, etc.
• Experience using Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence methods as well as experience of delivering data analytics
• Experience in influencing senior stakeholders; you will be the key person in translating business requirements into technical plans, and delivering results back into the business
• Ability to mentor and upskill junior colleagues – playing an active role upskilling and raising the profile of the whole team, over time

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience working in an environment where risk management is an important consideration
• Experience working with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau and Cloud
• Experience working with Cloud solutions
• Experience training end users in data science and analytics technologies


Where will you be working?
This role will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
