Control Business Partner
Radbroke, Knutsford, Glasgow or Northampton

As a Barclays Control Business Partner, you will be support the delivering actionable insight on Barclays UK’s (BUK) control environment, leveraging the centralized CCO MI Service, to enable pro-active risk management. influencing the effectiveness and simplicity of bank risk and control frameworks, Operational Risk and Compliance and coordinate delivery of related activities in BUK. Supporting the BUK Chief Controls Officer in providing impactful management reporting and insight

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in.  Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Leveraging risk, control and business data to drive actionable insights and recommendations to mitigating all risk 
• Actively supporting and coordinating risk using bank processes, including the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
• Doing material Risk Event back tests, Conducting Risk Dashboards, ongoing (live) Assessments
• Providing intelligence and insights to the BUK Risk Assessment Forum
• Demonstrating Leadership or support of planned and ad-hoc business planning activity
• Acting as a POC for managing key relationships

What we’re looking for:
• Experience engaging with senior individuals in the business and able to appropriately communicate with impact and influence
• Ability to gain support for plans and ideas across the organization and make things happen by engaging and working closely with others  
• Ability to build robust relationships with other control functions e.g. Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance
• Experienced reporting / writing at executive level with ability to deliver key messages and communicate with impact

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Ability to autonomously design and execute to plan, acting decisively during unexpected events, demonstrating resilience in the face of difficulties
• Proven ability to confidently develop people, improve processes and supporting a resilient, inclusive and adaptive culture that upholds the Barclays mind set and values 
• Broad knowledge of Barclays data tools (Tableau) and experience or a proven ability to learn about Standard Control Book data
• Driving a culture of innovation in a control function

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command Centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.


Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration. A place where everyone can bring their true selves to work and reach their full potential. Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. 
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
