As a Barclays Java Developer you will join us at an exciting time of growth in our team. You will be responsible to build and deliver a cloud native credit processor product for the bank. As our employee, you will design and implement secured software solution for server side components and databases using modern languages and technologies.

What will you be doing?
• Provide technical leadership across technology choices and lead and mentor best practices
• Promote and drive innovation by actively advocating new tools, processes and technical developments to drive continuous development
• Produce clean efficient code based on specifications
• Develop components from UI to back end using modern languages and techniques
• Provide technical support on non functional testing, especially performance engineering covering triage
What we’re looking for:
• Experience in automating process of building, packaging and deploying software on to the platform using industry standard devops toolset
• Proven experience in using Spring Framework and data structures
• Experiece in Weblogic/JBoss, SQL (MS-SQL preferred) & Messaging JMS/ EMS/ MQ/ XML
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Good command on the Java programming language and experience in using Spring Framework
• Experience in using Open Source or 3rd Party Libraries such as Log4j, Hibernate, Liquibase erc.
• Good command on service patterns and protocols covering Web Services, API, REST, RPC; experience of using API test frameworks
• Profiencieny with messaging systems covering RabbitMQ, Kafka & Mule
We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
Where will you be working?
Based in our Manchester office, which is in the heart of the city centre. Offering a modern working environment, with restaurants, bars and gyms just a stone’s throw away from the office.
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
