As a Barclays Security Engineer/Designer, you’ll join us within Security Engineering and Technology Services. You will be researching, designing, and documenting the security solutions with the products Barclays has acquired for consumption as a service offering across all of Barclays. This will be the ideal role for you if you have the ability to think architecturally at ‘big picture’ and able to translate this into practical security implementation

Hybrid Working

What will you be doing?
•    Developing a strong knowledge of security tooling (commercial off-shelf) and assisting the development team in configuring the tools to meet their requirements
•    Analysing requirements, driving the vision for various security products and design solutions to meet the user requirements for a range of security tooling
•    Liaising with the Data and insights team, analysing data to support design decisions and enable areas like detection for malicious activity in log data, network traffic or on endpoints
•    Producing engineering and technical solutions and/or Designs across security domains
•    Collaborating closely with lead engineers and designers, Security consultants, Project managers and global infrastructure resources
•    Taking responsibility for the delivery of engineering designs which are then deployed by the engineering teams
•    Working closely with on-shore and off-shore teams, across multiple time zones

What we’re looking for:
•    Extensive Solution design experience
•    Excellent overall knowledge of open source and commercial security tooling and integrations
•    Strong knowledge of security network architectures (e.g. Firewalls, DMZ, proxies, DNS, web and mail servers) and the principles of networking
•    Good diagramming and documentation skills

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Previous Experience of Solution design for medium to large organisations 
•    Relevant professional certifications in information technology or cloud security e.g. CISSP, CCSP, CISA, CEH, OSCP, GIAC 
•    Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) 
•    Strong background in computer science and engineering

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
