Business Oversight Compliance Manager

As a Barclays Business Oversight Compliance Manager, you will have an exciting chance to support the enhancement of the compliance programme across Barclaycard Payments, UK Corporate Bank and Transaction Banking in light of ongoing change within the external environment. You will need to work across the three lines of defence to ensure excellence in delivery of objectives. The initial focus of the role will be to support the alignment of all client journeys to the Consumer Duty requirements.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What will you be doing?
•    Providing technical analysis of the Consumer Duty regulations and the application of the specific aspects to the Barclaycard Payments, UK Corporate Bank etc 
•    Representing Business Oversight Compliance in all appropriate working groups to set the appropriate strategy and mitigate conduct risk from proposed solutions
•    Supporting the briefing on the work programme to the Head of Compliance - UK Corporate Bank, Transaction Banking, Barclaycard Payments & Consumer Bank Europe 
•    Liaising across the Barclaycard Payment, UK Corporate Bank and Transaction Banking teams to ensure appropriate collaboration and escalation where required
•    Providing accurate and timely regulatory advice and guidance to the Barclaycard Payments, UK Corporate Bank and Transaction Banking businesses
•    Taking a lead role in pan Barclaycard Payments, UK Corporate Bank and Transaction Banking initiatives relating to the Compliance Programme
•    Assisting the Barclaycard Payments, UK Corporate Bank and Transaction Banking compliance teams on other compliance activities as required

What we’re looking for:
•    Detailed knowledge of the relevant regulations  
•    Ability to apply knowledge practically and pragmatically with an understanding of the commercial environment
•    Professional Qualifications or studying towards professional qualifications such as the those offered by the International Compliance Association or a suitable legal qualification 
•    Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Relevant experience in the financial services industry, with wide ranging compliance or legal experience in the UK 
•    Knowledge of financial products offered by the Barclaycard Payments, UK Corporate Bank and Transaction Banking businesses
•    Proven ability to operate within complex business, propose client friendly solutions and openly escalate material matters
