What will you be doing 
The Director of Corporate Communications, BUK, PBWM and UKCB is responsible for enabling and leading an integrated, cohesive communications strategy aligned with Barclays' strategic plan. They will support the MD, Head of Corporate Communications BUK, PBWM & UKCB, to deliver strategic communications covering the three business divisions and will maximise the opportunity of being relentlessly focussed on outstanding stakeholder management, creative content and audience outcomes. The role will be integral in activating the new UK focus as part of Barclays' three-year plan through a consistent, focused and coordinated communications strategy, drawing on insights, cross-Public Policy & Corporate Relations disciplines and knowledge, and through building strong business relationships. The role holder will be the subject matter expert in translating business objectives into a communications strategy which is comprehensive, consistent and aligned to achieving market commitments.  

Key Accountabilities
•    Support the MD, Head of Corporate Communications BUK, PBWM & UKCB to;
•    Business partner across senior stakeholders, building in-depth knowledge of each business and providing integrated communications service and counsel. The role-holder should be an expert in contemporary and diverse communication channels and techniques, with curiosity and creative flair a key requirement.
•    Define and build a set of integrated communications strategies which draw content from BUK, PBWM ,UKCB and have clear strategic objectives and business aligned outcomes.
•    Define and build a tailored integrated leader communications plan for the three division CEOs. 
•    Ability to leverage audience mapping and insight for all target audience groups.
•    Manage the agreement of communications priorities; marrying tactical demands with considered and priority proactive themes and topics.
•    Ability to identify and utiltise broad external insight and detailed internal data applicable to UK wide communications.
•    Lead the use of measurement which seeks to both determine impact but also to inform ongoing strategy, plans and priorities.
•    Be a crucial lead bringing together the breadth of Public Policy & Corporate Relations and marketing disciplines in pursuit of a holistic integrated UK communications strategy. 
•    Deputise for MD, Head of Corporate Communications, where relevant.

What we’re looking for 
•    Strong industry and business knowledge. A track record of engagement at executive level in a global business, ideally within a regulated sector
•    Clear experience of and expertise in strategy setting, building integrated communication plans with clear strategic objectives and aligned to delivering desired outcomes
•    Robust experience of reputation management and of working as part of a broad corporate affairs team, demonstratable experience across a broad set of core disciplines
•    An ability to challenge, build credibility and work with integrity at all levels within the organisation
•    Ability to translate complex business priorities into clear and compelling integrated communication plans and narratives
•    Demonstrate the ability to challenge, build credibility and work with integrity to influence stakeholder buy in and multi-team delivery 
•    Ability to coach and influence at very senior levels 
•    Strategic and creative thinker with excellent writing skills
