Trainee Company Secretary
As Barclays Trainee Company Secretary, you will have a great opportunity to support the provision of company secretarial services to Barclays Group legal entities and directors, including Statutory compliance, Board meeting administration, Document execution. Moreover, as a Trainee Company Secretary within a large, you’ll have a dynamic Company Secretarial Function, providing cover for the team in the absence of other Trainee Company Secretaries.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What will you be doing?
• Being accountable for company secretarial services for Barclays Group Legal Entities and undertake the statutory compliance for those entities
• Drafting and supporting routine company matters, including (contacts, indemnities, capital distributions, share capital changes, confirmation statement, and the like)
• Managing the approval of all UK accounts and minutes to the decided template
• Maintaining of corporate records, such as Articles of Association and Report and Accounts
• Issuing and executing powers of attorney, certificates of authority and sealing documents, and being the first point of contact for businesses
• Handing the production of meeting minutes to a high standard of presentation in terms of accuracy and quality
• Helping directors, particularly in arranging and managing director inductions and training sessions
• Assisting actively with enquiries in relation to entity records and approvals process and any ad hoc queries
What we’re looking for:
• Solid academic background – educated to degree level or equivalent
• Desire to study towards the CGI qualification
• Exceptional organisational, administrative and communication skills including written English
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Good level of IT literacy and competence including the ability to manipulate and create spread sheets
• Previous experience using a Company Secretarial database
