­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Overall purpose of role

The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of leading-edge Cash sales advice to the PB EME Business. They will oversee a team of Cash and Liquidity specialists as well the end-to-end oversight for the provision of banking products in Geneva and Monaco.

The role holder will be responsible for creating and delivering a strategy to achieve both the financial and non-financial objectives of the team. This will be achieved by working alongside the PB EME Market and Segment Heads, Team Leaders, Private Bankers, Credit Structurers and Investment Advisors to formulate and deliver tailored On-balance sheet Liquidity solutions (Current & Call A/c’s, Notice A/c, Money Market Deposits and other specialist products), Payments & Receivables, Digital Banking connectivity solutions; together with other key priorities for the PB business. The role holder goal is to focus on both gaining “New to Barclays” business, resulting in incremental income / profit, and increased wallet share from existing clients.

The role holder will actively support the PB EME businesses in delivering their objectives by driving a balanced scorecard performance management culture and providing strategic and market segment input to key partners such as Credit Structurers, Investment Advisors, Banking and Credit Product Teams, and Platform Teams.

This role will be based in Monaco, however will involve travel in the other booking centres where EME bankers are based (Geneva, Zurich, Dubai).

Key Accountabilities

·Business Development

The role holder will be accountable for driving a team to achieve the customer targets, revenue, balance sheet and services goals of the Banking business through appropriate client activity, balanced scorecard and performance management that underpins the delivery of sustainable financial growth and the provision of a world class client service.

The role holder will drive client centric initiatives within the business, identifying commercial opportunities and implementing solutions that enhance the client experience, and will actively support the acquisition, servicing, development and the retention of clients; whilst personally complying with all regulatory requirements.

The role holder will drive a world class client-centric culture by ensuring they consistently deliver an exceptional client experience and promote Barclays Group products and services based upon an in-depth understanding of clients’ needs, helping to establish Barclays Group and Private Bank as one of the market leaders in Cash Management and Liquidity solutions. The role holder will demonstrate extensive knowledge of Balance Sheet, Cash Management, Treasury and Liquidity solutions to the highest level expected within Private Bank.

The role holder will drive their team to ensure that they are a key contributor towards building and advocating client plan objectives which are focussed on delivering excellent client satisfaction and outcomes. They will manage their teams to develop and execute quarterly business plans, support the retention of balances, greater share of wallet and new banking opportunities. Working in partnership with the Front Office teams, actively seeking opportunities to improve margins, optimise balance sheet (currency, liquidity, CLR) and drive balance growth and retention. Partnering with front office colleagues to deliver new and if required tailored solutions to meet client needs, delivering tailored solutions for +£20m clients to win and retain deposits, whilst remaining focused on LCR efficiency and balance sheet appetite when structuring solutions that meet client needs. They will proactively refer opportunities to other specialist solution teams such as Credit or Investment team, Trade, and Corporate Bank Cash Specialists to maximise cross selling opportunities.

As the local Banking representative, the role holder will have responsibility for ensuring that product launches/enhancements are implemented as agreed, adhering to appropriate change governance and that bespoke client pricing is undertaken in line with agreed governance processes.

·Business Management

The role holder will drive, establish, maintain and develop communication channels with Relationship Team Leaders, Business and Country heads in EME and other key Business Areas / Colleagues. They will build strong relationships with Key and Senior Front Office colleagues across the Private Bank and broader Barclays group. They will regularly and pro-actively contribute to Sales meetings, PB/PBE Training.

They will support the implementation and embedding of the PB EME Cash and Liquidity Specialist model within all PB cash and liquidity activity to support Bankers successfully winning and retaining business.

They will ensure they are providing accurate and up to date sales data on the appropriate sales management system. They will proactively provide input to product development as well as enhancements to sales processes, design of marketing and sales materials founded on an understanding of client needs.

They will be the PB EME first point of contact for Banking, bringing in the Product and Pricing Teams as required for specific queries. The role holder will drive on delivering education and expert advice to the business to develop and equip them to use the product range to meet client needs, win and retain balances. Designing and delivering training and coaching to PB teams regarding Banking products. They will act as Cash and Liquidity consultants to ensure that client solutions and opportunities are focussed on winning new balances and share of wallet

·The role holder will act as a spokesperson for Banking in PB EME and will deputise at committees and other stakeholder meetings for the Head of Banking where required

·- The role holder will foster an atmosphere of compliance, ensures regulations are observed, and puts relevant processes in place for employees to escalate problems

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

·Experience working in a Sales environment

·The successful candidate will have excellent, in depth, knowledge of balance sheet products, a technical understanding of pricing and worth of funds and be familiar with both operational and client servicing environments

·The successful candidate will have excellent, in depth, knowledge of the Private Banking market

·The role holder is required to maintain up-to-date with relevant sector / functional knowledge, and to have insights into external market developments / initiatives.

·The successful candidate will be able to motivate and influence stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

·The successful candidate will have proven track record of delivery business results in a complex market; ability to apply extensive industry knowledge and contribute to the commercial objectives of the business from a deposit proposition perspective

·The successful candidate will have in depth knowledge of the systems and processes supporting the Private Bank.

·The successful candidate will ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards

Language skills

·There are no specific language requirements although a working knowledge of French would be an advantage in working with colleagues in Geneva and Monaco.
