Hybrid Working 

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

In an environment that is continuously evolving, the role holder will help us to set and execute the marketing strategy for key strategic wealth corridors between India, UAE, Africa, Singapore. We aim to deliver exceptional client growth and engagement, both innovatively and efficiently, and in a way that sets us apart from our key competitors. This is a highly visible and critical role providing marketing advisory and execution support to the senior management of the Private Client business (spanning onshore India, non-resident India segments in addition to more institutional segments in Singapore under Barclays Private Bank).  Working with their team, the role holder will be expected to:

-    Lead long term and short term planning translating business strategy into marketing strategy and tactics on the ground.
-    Driving continuous improvement initiatives (with opportunity to impact both strategic and operational projects) helping the team to become a more proactive, commercial and ‘client first’ partner to the Private Bank
-    Drive the brand forward to build visibility and strengthen our reputation in the regional hubs and building our PB identity internally.
-    Optimise the business opportunities for collaboration across Private Bank and the wider Barclays Group.
-    Create and foster a positive team culture, founded in the Values and Mind-set, which encourages creativity and original approaches to problem solving to achieve measurable client and business outcomes

What will you be doing?

Strategy and planning
•    Own, develop and execute the marketing plan which will accelerate revenue growth and increase brand awareness & market share for the business. This will mean leading a multi channel strategy including client communications, events, digital and social media, guiding our PR coverage and awards strategy as well as reviewing partnership, sponsorship and other client engagement opportunities in the local markets. 
•    Partner with others to ensure we have appropriate and timely data and strategic insights (client, market, business and competitor) to help drive and shape our key strategic planning processes and in year optimisation efforts.
•    Become a subject matter expert in the strategic challenges / opportunities we face within each market (across our wealth corridors) to help identify synergies, efficiencies and simplification of our approach. 
•    Build strong relationships with front office colleagues equipping them with the right knowledge and tools to enable them to leave clients feeling confident, special and inspired.

Acquire new clients to the Private Bank to increase market share
•    Working alongside the centres of expertise to increase brand awareness, consideration and connection across key wealth corridors / markets with our target audience/s. 
•    Accelerating the acquisition of new clients through multi-channel campaigns using the appropriate marketing mix and targeted at the areas of greatest opportunity. 

Deepen relationships with existing clients to increase share of wallet
•    Undertaking marketing activity to increase our share of wallet and engage with clients, positioning our holistic offering across investments, lending, wealth advisory, sustainable investing and philanthropy (where relevant) 

Governance, Finance and Reporting
•    Own and optimise the demand management and capacity planning process.
•    Partner with Planning and Operations Lead to prepare annual budget and spend phasing in conjunction with the Global Marketing and Engagement Head. Monitor holistic expenditure against budget on an ongoing basis. 
•    Support the production of high quality materials for the team that convey complex themes into simple, coherent and compelling Executive level presentations e.g. Quarterly Business Reviews

What we’re looking for:

•    An excellent understanding of private banking and investment management products and solutions, able to hold their own and challenge in a constructive manner the bankers  and other business stakeholders 
•    Able to navigate the complexities of working in a regulated industry
•    Experienced in developing and executing marketing strategy that drives engagement and understanding of our offering, ultimately delivering commercial returns 
•    Understanding of how to deliver professional and engaging marketing through the line, to both existing and potential clients 
•    Robust understanding of how to measure impact (marketing & commercial) and continually make recommendations to optimise activity  
•    Be a self-starter who can roll up their sleeves and get things done. Being proactive, pragmatic and self sufficient as this role will likely be based in a geography away from the main marketing hub so ability to engage remotely across the centralised functions will be critical. 

•    Candidate will likely be from an investment management, asset management or private banking background. 
•    Ideally they will have spent time in a client facing role, and is able to understand and recognise the needs of our niche audience. 

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Person ideally to have Marketing or Business Management degree  
•    Experience working with institutions such as Family Offices.
