Internal Auditor – Investment Banking and Research

As a Barclays Internal Auditor for Investment Banking and Research, you will work collaboratively with team members to deliver high quality assurance. You will be assessing the inherent risk and control environment as well as deriving the audit need in the Investment Banking and Research business areas. This will entail having meetings with key clients to understand key changes, emerging risks, and areas of concern.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the audit teams on a day to day basis, working to ensure that audits deliverables are met, with regards to scope, quality, and budget
• Identifying, assessing and documenting risks/control objectives and controls
• You will be discussing the factual accuracy of audit issues with audit stakeholders while owning objective opinions and maintaining independence
• You will be writing high quality audit issues and supporting the Audit Owner in writing the report
• Providing constructive feedback and evaluation to team members for audit assignments
• You will be updating awareness of risk issues and changes across relevant business units and support to amend audit approach where necessary
• You will own and drive personal learning to support achievement of career aspirations

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of services
• 3+ years of audit experience (internal, external or both)
• 3+ years exposure to Investment Banking (including Capital Markets) and Research industry (a strong interest in the business will also be considered)
• Practical understanding of the relevant regulatory environment


Skills that will help you in the role:

• Team player; strong communication skills; good attention to detail and able to execute with minimal supervision on audit assignments
• Good knowledge of Investment Banking products (M&A, Debt and Equity Origination, Leveraged Finance, Risk Solutions)
• Displays willingness and initiative to learn and share knowledge about new products and markets
• Relevant professional qualifications / licenses (e.g. CPA, ACA., CFA, CIA, MIIA, ACCA, CISA, series 7, 24, 63, 79, ACAMS)
