Server Developer 
New York, NY

As a Barclays Server Developer, you will design and implement the server code used in our next-generation high touch trading infrastructure. Your work will make a global impact by delivering the technology used by Barclays’ equities desks in America, Europe and Asia. In this visible role, you will work with company leaders to identify technical and business requirements. You will collaborate to deliver seamless solutions for Barclays traders, allowing them to provide top-level service to our external clients.

What will you be doing?

•    You will be designing and developing new trading functionality in areas targeted for growth
•    Developing high-quality, efficient and readable business logic code
•    Analyzing submitted code to infer and resolve issues
•    Investigating production issues and working with stakeholders to clarify requirements
•    Collaborating with quality assurance teams to coordinate and sign-off regional releases

What we’re looking for:

•    Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other analytical field
•    5+ years proven experience with Java programming experience, with a focus on core Java development with an understanding about the inner workings of the JDK and JVM 
•    Proven skillset in: Spring IOC, RDBMS, shell scripting, Maven, middleware technologies such as MQ, Tibco or Solace
•    Extensive experience with Linux / Unix and Distributed file system 

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Good understanding of business analysis and documentation requirements
•    Ability to drive and influence global teams for project-oriented work
•    Stakeholder management experience with the experience of building consensus within groups to move in the strategic direction
•    Analysis skills with the ability to analyze submitted code and resolve issues
