As a Barclays International Corporate Banking Americas Legal Vice president, you will be working with ICB Americas and you will be focusing on structuring, negotiating and executing commercial debt and trade finance transactions. You will maintain documentation for branch’s commercial deposit and cash management offerings, supporting with expansion, including legal analysis on new jurisdictions, new products & innovation. Additionally, you will provide legal support for corporate banking colleagues globally with questions relating to US law.

Salary / Rate Minimum: $250,750
Salary / Rate Maximum: $310,250

What will you be doing?

•    Delivering legal advice for all aspects of the ICB Americas business
•    Structuring, documenting and closing syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, trade and receivables finance and other complex financing transactions
•    Maintaining contractual documentation for BBPLC NY Branch’s commercial deposit and cash management offerings
•    Making legal risk management recommendations to front office bankers, product origination and management partners, operations and other
•    Ensuring that the businesses and transactions comply with and operate within Barclays’ Policies, Standards, Procedures and operational frameworks
•    Leading internal projects to improve processes or address legal and/or regulatory change
•    Maintaining and updating product documentation actively
•    Working with external legal counsel on complex matters competently that cannot be conducted in house

What we’re looking for:

•    Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school/ equivalent degree from a non-US university that is recognized by the New York State Bar; and a qualified New Yorker
•    Significant experience in a relevant practice area of a law firm and/or previous in-house experience at a financial institution

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Five years’ experience in a relevant practice area at a law firm and/or in-house at a financial institution
•    Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
