Risk & Controls Tester
Northampton


As a Barclays Risk & Controls Tester, you will work across the first line of defence Business Units and Functions providing management with informed opinion on the effectiveness of controls they operate to mitigate material risks. You will be able to undertake testing of controls to validate the design, operating effectiveness and sustainability of controls operated by the business. You will work in partnership with a wide variety of stakeholders across CCO, Business Units and Functions.

What will you be doing?
• Assisting and supporting the development of the Control Testing plan
• Planning, executing Design Effectiveness Assessment (DEA)/Operational Effectiveness Testing (OET) and reporting of testing outcomes
• Delivering Controls Testing reviews in line with quality and timeline expectations
• Being accountable for the accuracy of data in the Controls Testing Tool (CTT)
• Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and represent the Controls Testing and Execution team in meetings, working groups etc., as required


What we’re looking for:
• Proven experience in one or more of the following: Internal/External Audit, Operational Risk Management or Risk and Control related discipline
• Experience of working in a universal Bank or Financial Services company preferably in Private Banking or Markets (e.g. Macro, Equities, Credit, Fixed Income Financing and Securitized Products) 
• A good understanding of risk and control assessment techniques;
• Good communication skills, strong Excel skills including data analytics and good report writing skills


Skills that will help you in the role:
• Specialist Risk and/or Control-related qualification – formal accreditation/qualification relating to audit, risk and/or control
• Knowledge of the Financial Services regulatory environment


Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. 
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
