Senior Cyber Fraud Research Engineer 
Northampton

As a Barclays Senior Cyber Fraud Research Engineer, you will be responsible for the sustainable development, deployment and maintenance of the Cyber Fraud Fusion Centre data and technology platform. You will also support wider Fraud, Financial Crime and Investigations teams within the bank with analysis to support attribution of cybercrime cases and with the development of automated systems to better detect, alert and analyse cybercriminal activity against our customer base.

What will you be doing?
•    Supporting the Cyber Fraud Fusion Centre (CFFC) leadership team in the continual enhancement and expansion of the CFFC service across the global bank
•    Managing the R&D analysists and engineers in building, integrating, and deploying: Cloud infrastructure and applications, complex data ingestion and automation solutions
•    Implementing technical development requirements across various technology teams which represent point of integration or dependencies for the CFFC technology stack
•    Liaising with the architecture and security operations functions for impacted/proposed services to ensure security, risk and regulatory requirements are met
•    Managing the development team’s code reviews, engineering best practices, and unblock challenges to enable team success
•    Managing CSO, Fraud or Financial Crime stakeholders in relation to data requirements for the needs of CFFC services 
•    Overseeing and presenting KPIs at regular cycles to stakeholders and supporting other functions within the Cyber Fraud Fusion Cell as required
•    Coaching and training analysts and engineers on latest advancements in software engineering, databases, code management, best practices, policies and standards

What we’re looking for:
•    Experience of using delivering at solutions at scale for both public and private cloud i.e. For Public: AWS/Azure services | For Private: Openshift/Kubernetes
•    Experience in programming: Python, PHP, JS, Java (Advantage) and knowledge of PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Teradata and none-rational Hadoop
•    Experience of operating Systems and Network fundamentals: Linux/Unix (RHEL), Windows, TCP/IP etc
•    Ability to review design patterns and provide best practices utilising professionalism, experience and prior knowledge to take an idea from inception to end product 

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience of working within cyber security and/or fraud technology teams
•    Understanding of Enterprise security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Cyber-attack phases (e.g. Cyber Kill Chain and/or Mitre Att&ck Framework)
•    Broad understanding of security network architectures (e.g. Proxies, VPN, DNS, web and mail servers) and the principles of network security
•    Experience of using analytical tools and platforms such as SQL/SAS/Hue/Hive Basic, Quantexa, Palantir, Maltego, Elastic Search, SAS and MI tools like Tableau and Power BI

This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
