Senior Strategy Analyst
London/Northampton
As a Barclays Senior Strategy Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting Barclaycard Payments with particular focus on data and analytical techniques to influence strategic decisions, identify new opportunities and optimise existing programs across wider team. You will be working closely with the front line teams, and functions including Finance, Risk, Marketing & Operations to design and deliver on strategies to enhance cross sell, stimulate spend, product penetration and retain customers who would attrite.

Hybrid Working
We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?
• Working within the wider teams & Credit Risk to execute the Barclaycard Payments Data strategy ensuring alignment with and leveraging capability/front line teams and functions
• Developing and enhancing the Data capabilities in a highly customer and client-centric way to provide innovative and progressive products/services
• Initiating, defining, delivering and synthesising analysis to optimise the risk adjusted profitability of the business
• Providing analysis to support optimal recruitment & pricing of new customers & performance metrics
• Providing analysis and support the strategy to increase Barclaycard’s share of the market
• Analysing the operations and call centre data to optimise the business unit goals
• Measuring and finding better ways to measure performance of existing and future activities
• Influencing deployment of marketing activities to ensure ability to test and learn and enable measurement of performance against aims
What we’re looking for:
• Track record of commercially proven, strategic innovations within a Technological or Financial Services organisation, with an emphasis on new customer/client experiences
• Track record of solving problems using big data and latest analytical/statistical tools (SAS, SQL, R, Python for Deep Learning techniques, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing)
• Deep understanding of market trends, rival activity, customer trends, political activity which affect the overall businesses
• Experience of building and transforming businesses through significant change and growth
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience of executing mass customer treatment strategies such as new account pricing or existing customer profit activities
• University degree level or higher qualification in a mathematical based subject or discipline
• Inspirational management capability including proven experience in building, heading and developing highly talented teams
Where will you be working?
1 Churchill Place in the heart of Canary Wharf is our London headquarter. The building is easily accessible by Tube, Docklands Light Railway and all major bus links. The atmosphere is second to none with an array of onsite amenities and a real buzz being created around the offices within.
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
