Associate Director - International Corporates 
Paris

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.


As a Barclays Associate Director- International Corporates, you will be supporting the Relationship Directors who cover the full market spectrum of companies, covering both inbound and regional relationships. You will be focusing on handling some of our most complex and strategically important customer relationships through providing excellent service and be recognised as a trusted advisor.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
•    Leading, identifying, and driving business development with new and existing clients, business planning, new client acquisition across our Relationship Directors’ portfolios
•    Assisting with product knowledge, sales research, client relationship development and research into solutions to meet customers’ needs using market and industry information 
•    Leading the coordination and execution of large, structured Cash, Trade and FX transactions, under the supervision of a senior manager, including pricing and Credit approval processes  
•    Monitoring and controlling nominated client portfolios and be the key point of reference for clients and internal colleagues who handle the origination teams
•    Driving business research, marketing, advertising & sponsorship campaigns, production of MI and monitoring success against strategic goals
•    Assisting the Relationship Directors with management of existing and new credit applications, ensure robust ongoing monitoring and control and that sound judgement is exercised 
•    Building relationships with key stakeholders - Global Relationship Directors, Financial Crime, Compliance, Cash Management, FX Trade & Working Capital, Investment Banking, etc. 
•    Coaching and developing team members including working with Associate Bankers and Associate Director peers that handle the portfolio and the wider team

What we’re looking for:
•    Fluency in English & French with experience working in a business development or sales team. stakeholder management, commerciality within a similar organisation
•    Well-developed judgment and problem-solving skills will be required related to product deliver and a broad knowledge of credit, regulatory and financial crime risk
•    Good knowledge of corporate banking products and services including those linked to Cash Management, Trade, and FX solutions
•    General banking skills including the ability to discuss strategic financial products and large treasury operation functionality and banking

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Ability to network effectively both internally and externally and maintain/develop relationships with C-Suite client officials, KBIs, product specialists and other key figures 
•    Ideally a finance or related degree and excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•    Good knowledge of specialist products within corporate banking and curiosity and drive to learn the detailed technical environments of our clients
•    Developed business awareness to include impact of general economic change on a Corporate’s business and how it may present opportunity to the firm
