AWS Cloud Developer
Prague
As a Barclays AWS Cloud Developer, you will be responsible for developing and supporting Research’s data science platform. This is a cloud based solution built on top of microservices that allows publishing authors to work with large sets of data and analyse those to gain new insights. You will be working with international teams and debug full-stack applications.

What will you be doing?
• You will be supporting senior Research business users and gather feedback from them
• You will be working with teams across the business to define and implement high-profile change projects
• Learning, understanding, developing and maintaining the Research data platform
• Ensuring that data scientists are not facing technical issues when working with the platform
• Driving improvements to stability and supportability
What we’re looking for:
• Good knowledge of Python and microservices
• Basic working AWS knowledge, Chef, Terraform and Cloud formation
• Basics of Unix/bash
• Experience of HTTP and HTML technologies
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Basic knowledge of Apache Spark
• Basics experience of SQL
• Basics knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• Willingness to expand on AWS knowledge
Where will you be working?
Our Prague office is based in the financial centre of Prague. We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing.
