Infrastructure Management and DBA L3 Engineer
Prague


As a Barclays Infrastructure Management and DBA L3 Engineer you will work on infrastructure related upgrade projects and improvements of infrastructure architecture of non-production environments. You will be based within the the Instrument & Price group which is accountable for positioning Barclays to the future state data platform and inject automation and innovation into the way we build and deliver solutions to a diverse set of internal and external clients.

What will you be doing?
• Be accountable for the control & maintenance of multiple pre-production and production environments, consisting of MSSQL database with opportunity to work on Oracle DBs 
• Managing and improving non-production database refreshes with data from production database instances
• Capacity planning for non-production and production database instances
• Allocating of capacity via change management process
• Investigating of infrastructure or performance related issues on new projects and on production environments as part of the incident management
• Working with project team on infrastructure upgrades of MSSQL versions from legacy to newest versions
• Taking accountability of the control and maintenance of multiple test environments (approx. 200 servers with Linux, Windows OS and MSSQL, Oracle DBs)
• Liaise with external teams to allocate storage or investigate Linux RedHat or Windows issues


What we’re looking for:
• Experience with relational database systems (preferably MSSQL)
• Knowledge of Windows OS. Unix OS knowledge is a plus
• Working experience of Automating SQL tasks via Powershell and T-SQL queries
• Experience supporting Cloud infrastructures, Handling Database/ Infrastructure migration from On-premise to Cloud (AWS/ Azure)


Skills that will help you in the role:
• Awareness about ITIL process (change management, incident management, problem management)
• Experience of compliling comprehensive project documentation, including infrastructure architecture diagrams, delivery plans/ milestones, infrastructure delivery status reporting
• Excellent appreciation of the software development lifecycle with focus on DBA and infrastructure management
