Job Title : Java Developer - Low Latency Trading System
The Equities Technology enables trading/processing/managing equities by several means to our clients and to our internal traders as well. The business spreads across Equity Derivatives, Cash Equities, Futures for various products (stocks, derivatives, ...). In order to facilitate all the functionality, there are several front, middle and back office systems.
The Electronic Trading team at Barclays provides the infrastructure for trading equities and listed options across the US, EMEA and APAC
What will you be doing?•Develop solutions both tactical and strategic problems to meet business requirements
•Provide estimates for tasks, including design, development, technical debt, and testing
•Produce code that is appropriate for a low-latency java platform
•Develop automated testing tools to exercise functionality, performance, and capacity of code
•Propose solutions to complex problems that are in keeping with the existing system architecture
What we’re looking for:•Experience of Core Java
•Understanding of multi-threading, memory management, caching, networking, distributed systems, algorithms and/or operating systems
•Experience of developing low latency applications
Skills that will help you in the role:•Experience with systems providing trading, risk, middle office, or other finance services
•Experience with network or platform engineering
•Experience with scripting: bash, perl, python
