Pay FX API Developer
Prague
As a Barclays Pay FX API Developer you will actively be involved with writing quality, reliable, and high-performance code on the Linux based platform running in openshift using the latest tools and Agile approach. You will be analysing new business/technical requirements and finding appropriate technical solutions whilst cooperating with diverse stakeholders.

What will you be doing?
• Working effectively to deliver required functionality to the FX API cover platform
• Cooperating within a team of other C++ and Java developers as well as testers and participating in a culture of “knowledge sharing”
• Delivering continuous improvement of the development environment
• Following the development lifecycle from analysis, design, implementation, unit tests, code reviews, automated and performance tests to delivery
What we’re looking for:
• Extensive experience of writing C++ (or C, java and similar) code for multithreaded server applications on Linux/Solaris or Windows is essential
• Excellent analytical and analysis skills, ability to investigate complex coding issues and navigate a large code base is essential
• Being able to communicate and participate in technical discussions within the development team, communicating any issues that have a project-wide scope to the necessary level
• Must be able to work with and participate within a small local team people as well as a large professional team across multiple global locations
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Familiarity with continuous integration systems such as TeamCity, version control systems such as GIT, build automation tools such as Maven
• Familiarity with docker, kubernetes/openshift and cloud technologies is a plus
• Previous work on a front office trading application will be beneficial
• Experience gained in Foreign Exchange Cash & Options, Money Markets or Investment Banking

Our Prague office is based in the financial centre of Prague. We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing.
