Equities Graduate Lead
As a Barclay Equities Graduate Lead, you will be leading a team of five junior developers and working on two projects in cash equities electronic trading application stack. The first project will be onboarding a reconciliation application that enables us to compare what trade date we see within our systems versus what stock exchanges have on record. The second project is the creation of application watchdogs that would observe the application behavior and report potential issues. You will be involved in the design, implementation and rollout of these projects.

What will you be doing?
• You will be leading and supporting a local team of up to 5 junior developers
• Designing and implementing solutions for the two projects outlined above
• Communicating with key stakeholders in a professional and constructive manner
• Producing code that is appropriate for a low-latency java platform
• Engaging in detailed dialogue with subject matter experts in order to drive consensus on solutions
• Design and implementing solutions matching the business requirements
• You will be making architectural and design decisions with large impact
What we’re looking for:
• Experience of leading a team/mentoring junior team members
• Experience with designing Java applications
• Experience with Core Java and/or C++ and Java ecosystem including Maven, unit testing, continuous integration, source code version control and issue tracking
• Experience of developing/running Java applications under linux
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience with messaging middleware (Kafka/Solace/Apache ActiveMQ)
• Experience in electronic trading and financial markets

Our Prague office is based in the financial center of Prague. We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game.
