Software Engineer
Prague
As a Barclays Software Engineer you will actively contribute to various projects spanning across critical technical deliveries, regulatory projects and platform enhancements requested by the product owner or business users. With an emphasis on both technical and communication skills, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical designs, supporting testing cycles and defect resolution in line with agreed timescales.

What will you be doing?
• Working closely with business and technology colleagues, building strong working relationships with key business users
• Participating in the design, documentation and testing of solutions to assigned user stories
• Working with users, business analysts and development leads to ensure requirements for stories are well-understood and feasible
• Participating in Agile Sprint ceremonies and all stages of the development lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, unit/integration testing)
• Performing in-depth Root Cause Analysis (RCA) into application/system issues
• Providing 3rd level support of the production and non-production environments
• Contributing to the delivery of projects in collaboration with teams across Barclays, to supporting quarterly releases/fixes
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Basic experience in .Net software development
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience of development and agile tools e.g. Jira, Git
• Basic exposure or working knowledge of; DevOps and release management, HTML5, Angular, JavaScript / TypeScript and unit and integration testing
Where will you be working?
Our Prague office is based in the financial centre of Prague. We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing. What matters the most to us is the way our ingenuity can help provide better service to our customers and make life easier for our employees.
