Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

Controls Testing & Execution role is to work across 1LoD Business Units and Functions providing management with informed opinion on the effectiveness of controls they operate to mitigate material risks.  The successful candidate will be able to undertake testing of controls to validate the design, operating effectiveness and sustainability of controls operated by the business including being able to leverage computer aided auditing techniques. 
 This will include challenging the control self-assessments performed annually by Business Units and Functions.  Candidates will need to articulate findings from testing work and raise issues where appropriate and agree actions plans to mitigate risks identified.  Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to work in partnership with a wide variety of stakeholders across CCO, Business Units and Functions, plus Risk teams and Internal Audit to ensure Controls Testing is undertaken efficiently with minimum impact on business as usual activities, and to ensure the results of Controls Testing are fully understood. 

What will you be doing?


•    Assist and support the development of the Control Testing plan;
•    For Review/ Control Test - undertake planning, execute DEA/OET testing
•    Articulate verbally and write Controls Testing reports with minimum supervision;
•    Deliver Controls Testing reviews in line with quality and timeline expectations – accountable for the accuracy of data in the Controls Testing Tool (CTT); and
•    Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, and represent the Controls Testing & Execution team in meetings, working groups etc., as required.

What we’re looking for:


•    Undergraduate degree or relevant business experience;
•    Proven experience in one or more of the following: Internal/External Audit; Operational Risk Management; or Risk and Control related discipline;
•    Ability to perform basic data profiling and analytics
•    Experience of working in a Bank or Financial Services; and
•    A good understanding of risk and control assessment techniques;
•    Good communication skills and ability to work in matrix management 
•    Strong Excel skills and data analytics experience
•    Strong report writing skills 

Skills that will help you in the role:-

•    Specialist Risk and/or Control-related qualification – formal accreditation / qualification relating to audit, risk and/or control etc.; and
•    Knowledge of the Financial Services regulatory environment.
•    Ability to query data sets using various tools .
