Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

To manage the end to end Controls Standard, to perform associated activities such as BCF Engagement, Operational Risk Engagement and Standard Refresh
Hosting various forums such Compliance Risk Dashboard, Controls working groups 
Establish and maintain strong partnership with relevant internal stakeholders across all three 
Risk Management Awareness: Understand Compliance and financial crime risks, their implications, and effective risk management and mitigation strategies

What will you be doing?

•    Design and implement framework to monitor, report and escalate issues related to Controls Standard adherence to Standard Owner, Policy Owner, Principal Risk and Chief Risk Officers.
•    Ensure Controls Standard are written to be comprehensive in scope and coverage.
•    Lead the effective implementation of policy and standards and provide training on both the standard and production process.
•    Negotiate and agree boundaries and accountabilities for Controls standard. 
•    Provide expert guidance to business users on Controls standard interpretation, including sharing best practice and expert direction in terms of what is necessary to meet the set requirements.
•    Develop and manage relevant CECs to measure the effectiveness of the CERPA requirements.
•    Responsible for the accurate and timely production of quarterly CERPA and CRD.
•    Own engagement with relevant CERPA and CRD Stakeholder and execute the priorities. 
•    Preparing, briefing and delivering CERPA related updates to relevant Committees, and Management Forums.
•    Continually look for opportunities to review, enhance the Controls Library processes and related standard.
•    Support the design and execution of tactical and strategic change.


What we’re looking for:

•    Builds collaborative relationships with others to help create a flexible organisation and experienced in dealing with multiple stakeholders in different business functions who have different objective e.g. business and function, Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, Fraud and Legal.
•    Strong commercial focus - sensitive to business needs and requirements but is solution orientated.
•    Experience of successfully delivering across teams, delivering new concepts and strategies and of change management.
•    Credible experience of ensuring the design and support of framework is embedded across a macro organisation.
•    Credibility in showing how training on framework changes, and processes can be released to multiple stakeholders that is relevant and useful to the end user.
•    Experience in financial services and specifically of the control frameworks applicable across the Barclays Group.
•    Experience of working successfully in different cultures in a sensitive manner in order to create strong relationships with senior leadership.
•    Strong working knowledge of the regulations and standards of relevant industry bodies and organisations.
•    Experience of continuous process and control improvement for both efficiency and exposure reasons
•    Collaborative and able to share best practice at all levels.
•    Graduate
•    Highly commercial and understanding the need for infrastructure and central functions to be seen to add value.
•    Must have the potential for further development personally and professionally with the ability to take on other and larger roles within the Group.

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Expert knowledge and extensive experience in policy and risk management roles
•    Able to produce high quality written communication including reviews of policies and standards and presentations to audiences.
•    Detailed understanding of risk processes and controls – able to challenge  
•    Prior experience in writing policy and standards including working knowledge of Barclays ERMF; ORF and BCF
•    Excellent written / verbal communication skills, ability to engage with internal / external stakeholders at multiple levels, leveraging judgement skills.
•    Delivery focused – highly organised and proactive individual with strong attention to detail, problem solving skills. and ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliver within tight timeframes. Self-starter who can work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
•    Ability to build a team including attracting world class talent, rapidly developing colleagues and creating a common purpose.
•    Experience of working within a highly regulated environment along with a sound understanding of the current environment and key issue within financial services.
•    Proven track record of delivery under tight deadlines
