Macro Business Manager 

As a Barclays Macro Business Manager, you will provide wide ranging support to Rates Trading and Structuring management team. The team is responsible for implementing the strategic goals of the Rates Trading and Structuring franchise while being key to the smooth and efficient running of business operations.  You will assist in Rates Trading and Structuring strategy, budgeting, cost control, change management, regulatory reform and front office technology initiatives.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. What will you be doing?

  • Providing key support and partnership to the heads of Rates trading in Asia Pacific, supporting key initiatives critical to the strategic agenda 
  • Working closely with business partners in across Barclays Bank to ensure a smooth and seamless running of the operating model
  • Acting as a point of contact for external infrastructure partners, clearing houses, trading venues and compression providers to ensure the business operates optimally 
  • Acting as a point of contact and escalation for internal stakeholders across Rates trading
  • Coordinating of Risk and Control Meetings, identifying areas for improvements in the Control Environment and implementing remediation plans 
  • Maintaining close connectivity and coordination with Macro Business Manager peers, ensuring distribution of business updates and co-ordination on joint initiatives
  • Analyzing of financial trends, profitability, capital/ returns and costs to identify efficiencies
  • Providing business planning and budgeting, invoice approvals, and expense management

What we’re looking for:

  • Numerate or Business/ Finance related degree 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Solid knowledge of Fixed Income Rate products
  • Highly organized with solid attention to detail

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Knowledge of FI Rates trading and sales systems/ operational flows and key control points
  • Familiarity with the financial regulatory landscape impacting Fixed Income Rates businesses 
  • Direct experience in a Business Management or similar role
