Account Executive

As a Barclays Account Executive, you will join our ambitious team to be the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients in respect to their day-to-day banking administration requirements, across a range of products and services, whilst supporting the non-personal clients in the Crown Dependencies with client service and relationship management delivery. In your new role, you will also be responsible for associated Account Executive (AE) functions, as well as actively supporting an assigned Relationship Manager.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

For this opportunity, we will consider requests for locating the role at an alternative Barclays’ key UK office from that advertised.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in.  Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Proactively educating customers to have confidence in using alternative channels of their choice, at times to suit them
• Being the main point of contact, for a portfolio of clients in respect to their day to day banking administration requirements
• Building and monitoring relationships with the clients
• Working alongside the Relationship Manager to ensure a quality service is provided at all times
• Undertaking pro-active client calls and ensuring that Relationship Managers follow up on all client leads
• Facilitating client meetings independently of the Relationship Manager

What we’re looking for:
• An action oriented and organised individual with the ability to handle a number of tasks simultaneously and prioritise accordingly
• Self-motivation and the ability to work on their own initiative and remain calm under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team

Skills that will help you in the role:
• A logical and structured approach to achieving desired outcomes along with good written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to communicate across all levels
• High integrity and trust due to the sensitive nature of information handled

Where will you be working?
We have two offices in Jersey situated in the heart of St Helier, the main town on this idyllic Island. The Barclays offices are surrounded by good quality shops and it’s only a 5-minute walk to the beautiful harbour with numerous sea view restaurants and bars. Barclays in Jersey promotes its ‘Values’ and is at the forefront of everything we do with a business emphasis on our ‘Shared Growth’ agenda with colleagues volunteering to help others in the community they live. We are a dynamic, future focused organisation with employee opportunities for personal development and mobility across the Barclays Group.
