What will you be doing?

•    On behalf of a global financial organization, design and develop solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, and network concerns. 
•    Perform systems management and integration functions. 
•    Act as a subject matter expert in File Storage Technologies specifically NetApp and Isilon. 
•    Provide operational support of file storage infrastructure technologies and services providing support, planning, analyzing and problem solving skills to Barclays business areas. 
•    Support infrastructure upgrades and refresh projects by taking into account internal and external team requirements and projects. 
•    Adhere to and report project updates, incidents, problems and changes being run locally and globally. 
•    Develop and design of strategic direction for file storage platform technologies and solutions driving Barclays goals and Global Storage programs. 
•    Provide global 24x7 on call support providing coverage to storage infrastructure for escalation support during off hours or project implementation. 
•    Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a Senior Storage Administrator or related occupation. 

Must have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with each of the following required skills:

(1)    File Storage Platforms such as NetApp and Isilon;
(2)    Replication Strategies and Technologies such as Snap Mirror, SyncIQ, RSync, Datamover, SRDF, Snapshot, Syncronous versus Asyncronous;
(3)    Server Message Block protocol operation and behavior with comparison to Network File Systems;
(4)    Storage Capacity Management balancing between Raw, Usable, Effective, Duplication,  and Compression;
(5)    Storage Performance Management key concepts for diagnosing performance issues such as throughput, latency, bandwidth, and input and output (I/O); and
(6)    Product Lifecycle Management in overlapping refresh cycles through initial deployment, support management, and decommissioning.
