BX Operational Resilience Lead

As a Barclays BX Operational Resilience Lead, you will be working within the business to deliver an acceptable Risk Appetite position and assisting the BU to ensure compliance against the Barclays Group Resilience Policy. You will be able to develop, maintain and improve the business aligned, Resilience Program. You will provide strategic advice to Senior Stakeholders; while supporting and guiding the business area to construct and maintain well controlled, resilient processes.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. What will you be doing?

•    Supporting and delivering against BX business units Resilience strategy, ensuring the establishment of effective governance to maintain the Resilience capabilities 
•    Ensuring the BX business units adopt the Group’s approach towards the management of Resilience and operate in such a way that ensures services to all stakeholders
•    Guaranteeing resilience is appropriately owned within the business and embedded as part of business planning, management, and development
•    Providing strategic direction and resilience guidance to all key stakeholders, including Senior Managing the (CEO, Business Heads and COO) and handling it in Executive level
•    Supporting business area in identifying and documenting Business Services and Important Business Services
•    Assisting in the determination of Business Impact Assessments and Intolerable Harm assessments
•    Engaging with SME’s to assess any Supplier, Technology and Workforce Resilience requirements
•    Leading the business in compiling and maintaining a Business Response Plan and Workforce Recovery Plans

What we’re looking for:

•    Proven leadership experience in Resilience, Risk & Control and/or Chief of Staff in a complex organization / advising senior levels of management in a large financial organization
•    Experienced and proven in operating in a matrix management model where influencing, negotiating and challenging skills have been highly leveraged. 
•    Stakeholder and relationship management skills at a senior level
•    Significant experience in business resilience and continuity, theoretical and practical, with a strong understanding of these disciplines within the financial services industry.

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Proven competency in use of MS Office 
•    Is adept at root cause analysis and acts to treat the underlying problem strategically whilst implementing short term tactical solutions
•    Understanding of threats, risks, impacts and associated mitigations as they relate to business resilience within a major banking organization
•    Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulatory bodies, standards (e.g. FSA ISPB) and industry better practice (e.g. ISO22301, PAS56)
