FX Electronic Trading Application Manager
Whippany, NJ
As a Barclays FX Electronic Trading Application Manager, you will work on providing first and second line technical and application support services for cross-asset E-Commerce and Algo trading applications. Additionally, you’ll work on supporting for inbound trade capture from various sources (both internal, external and ecommerce) and outbound messaging, including proactive monitoring and reconciliation reports.

What will you be doing?
• Monitoring application incident queues/ alerts ensuring maximum system uptime and contributing to service level improvements
• Working closely with other IT technology teams to manage and resolve production issues and own the process
• Providing functional systems support for business activities ranging from trade capture to trade life cycling, PNL and risk position generation
• Maintaining up to date knowledge base of the application’s technical structure and business logic in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Engaging in minor development tasks to include creating automation toolsets to monitor processes, reporting, streamlining analysis of investigations
• Liaising with developers on minor change and tactical solutions to providing advisory services relating to strategic projects on boarding
• Supporting proactive monitoring of all hardware platforms to maintain stability and capacity and assisting with maintenance of configuration data Business Continuity
• Planning - maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans; assisting with DR testing and reviews
What we’re looking for:
• College degree
• Hands on experience in Shell/ Perl/ Python and Database scripting
• Understanding of FIX protocol
• Knowledge of tools - Autosys, Nagios and ServiceFirst
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Confidence, self-motivation, resourcefulness and ability to work alone as effectively as in a team
• Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements and priorities
• Ability to multi-task effectively when required, but also to identify scheduling conflicts and communicate these confidently
• Flexible approach to working hours
