About BX Functions Compliance

BX Functions Compliance in the U.S. provides compliance advice and guidance to the Functions Departments primarily in the areas of Operations, Technology, Finance and Risk, front-to-back coverage for Treasury and regional compliance coverage for Data Privacy and Cybersecurity. The Team partners closely with Business Compliance to deliver sound advice to our stakeholders, regulators and our clients.We conduct compliance training, check and challenge our stakeholders as the second line of defense, conduct periodic testing by way of verification checks, and assist with regulatory exams and responding to regulatory inquiries.

Overall Purpose of role

The overall purpose of this role is for this candidate to build a compliance framework in the US for the Risk Function and the associated transaction cycles.This framework will align to the BX Functions Compliance Strategy and Advisory Target Operating Model.

Your Role (Key Accountabilities)

·Partner with Global Compliance Lead to define Risk coverage in the region in accordance with the BX Functions Compliance Strategy

·Provide real-time guidance to the Risk Function and Transaction Cycles to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations 

·Actively monitor regulatory change, and take appropriate action to ensure the Firm complies with new or amended regulations

·Provide guidance regarding the design and implementation of controls to facilitate compliance and mitigate risk. 

·Governance, oversight and participation in Firm wide committees (including New Business & Risk & control Meetings)

·Advise on existing policies and procedures, as well as amending/supplementing/policies and procedures as required

·Providing advice and expertise in responding to regulatory inquiries

·Periodic testing and/or review of processes and controls (Verification Checks)

Basic Qualifications/Skills (Must be quantifiable)

·Bachelors Degree

·10+ years in financial markets and/or regulatory experience

·10+ years of risk experience

·Comprehensive analytical and problem solving skills

·Strong written and verbal communications skills

·Team player – one who is able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment

·Ability to build, develop and maintain solid working relationships throughout various businesses and control functions and departments 

·Comfortable with different technology applications and reporting analysis

·Strong commitment to Barclays values

·Able to adapt quickly and appropriately in accordance with the constant evolution of the company and industry
