Programme overview

Encore!, one of Barclays’ flagship diversity and citizenship programmes, helps individuals who have taken a career break prepare to reenter the workforce. Barclays values diversity of experience and perspective among its talent and views Encore! as a way to achieve this.

Encore! provides returners with the opportunity to refresh their skills through leadership and development training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and a paid working role for the programme’s duration. Subject to performance and feedback throughout the program, qualified candidates may be offered permanent roles at Barclays.

Piloted in 2016, Encore! has expanded with programmes now in India, the UK, and US.

Applicant requirements

  • Must have gained experience or have transferable skills at the corporate level or above when previously in the workforce.
  • Have taken at least one year career break from the date of application.

Programme roles

  • The program provides leadership and development training as we as paid 12-week fellowship in our offices.
  • Qualified candidates with strong performance are eligible to be considered for full-time roles based on availability and suitability.
