Business Manager - Chief of Staff
Dublin

As a Barclays Business Manager - Chief of Staff within Barclays Europe COO Office, you’ll be contributing towards the execution of the strategic agenda and the day-to-day operational oversight of the entity, helping with the associated functions, including coordinating COO requirements for the Barclays Europe Board, CEO, COO level governance, and preparing content & briefing notes for key internal and external engagements. You will also ensure that all activities are carried out in full compliance with Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?
•    Delivering exceptional business performance whilst maintaining risk management, and building and maintaining highly proactive, long-term business relationships
•    Assisting with scheduling, collecting materials, and minuting Barclays Europe governance forums that are managed by the COO Office
•    Helping the Barclays Europe COO in the preparation of briefings, leading the organizing of events, and coordinating across the entity
•    Supporting COO Office projects leveraging a strategic and technical skillset, assisting project teams in the design and implementation of strategic solutions across Barclays Europe
•    Providing a range of briefing notes for internal and external meetings for the COO, including regulatory, client and other stakeholder meetings
•    Preparing bespoke presentation materials and content, including speaker notes, for townhalls and other meetings where strategic content is required
•    Maintaining effective working relationships in Europe and across the Group to effectively represent the COO Office
•    Taking a flexible and agile decision-making process to shape strategic direction, responding positively to changing internal and external circumstances


What we’re looking for:
•    Excellent numeracy and communication skills, creative mindset with a keen interest in strategic projects
•    Project management experience and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment
•    Knowledge of key Banking/Financial Services performance drivers, risk concepts, and regulatory developments
•    Experience working in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment sharing ideas and best practice with your peers and seniors alike

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Problem solving skills to deliver the management of a large team in complex sectors, ensuring that continuity of service is always provided by the team
•    European experience and understanding of regulatory environment
•    Ability to contribute effectively when working with senior colleagues across the business, must be able to execute at speed, under pressure and with accuracy
•    Possession of strategic analytics toolkit, understanding of the industry, the business itself 

Where will you be working?
You will be based in our new flagship office, One Molesworth Street, which is in the heart of Dublin city Centre. We are currently expanding which drives a culture of change and hard work ethic, nonetheless the company maintains an open, friendly atmosphere. This is enhanced through our unique on boarding programs and several committees which all employees are eligible to join.
