As an intern in the International Corporate Bank, you will be joining at a unique moment in time, as we are doubling the size of the ICB over the next few years. This means we will be investing in the skills of our people to empower them to drive out future.
An intern will have the opportunity to work alongside fellow analysts, mentors, and senior bankers in a flat, organizational structure; exposure to a variety of banking products and sectors; client facing opportunities / exposure by preparing and participating in client meetings in support of senior Relationship Directors. You will also receive support for personal career development, and professional qualifications in Credit Risk Management and Certified Treasury Professional.

Our UK Corporate Bank supports large and medium Corporate clients within the UK, compromising of specialist businesses each of which are market leaders in the UK market; Large Corporate, Medium Corporate, Public Sector and Real Estate. We support the entire range of its clients’ needs from day to day banking through to complex corporate financing arrangements. As a UK Corporate banking colleague you will be responsible for supporting your clients gain access to all of Barclays group solutions including Barclaycard and Personal Banking.
Our Intern programme will teach banking from a grass roots level and inform interns on the role a bank plays in the UK economy as we support strategic clients with complex needs ranging from day to day banking through to complex mergers and acquisitions as well as broader topics such as ESG planning.

Transaction Banking works closely with the Corporate and Investment Bank, supporting clients with the critical aspects of their day-to-day business operations. We aspire to be the leading provider of digitally enabled working capital and transaction banking services to our clients, in the UK and Internationally. As a Transaction Banking intern, you will be responsible for working across a range of payments products and services to support our Corporate Bank clients with their day-to-day banking needs
This programme will help you understand how our payments products and services stand at the heart of our Corporate Banking proposition. You will work on developing new and exciting payment solutions, to be utilised by some of the biggest and best-known companies in the UK and worldwide, and learn how to manage products from ideation through end of life, incorporating all the appropriate risk and control requirements.
Transaction Banking is a diverse part of the bank made up of colleagues from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences. There is no typical ‘transaction banker’ but having a positive, can-do attitude is key. We need graduates that can work in a fast paced, dynamic environment; candidates need to be able to adapt and think on their feet with good problem-solving skills. You are someone who enjoys taking on new challenges, is curious, enjoys learning and are confident in bringing innovative ideas to the table.
