Discovery Programme

The Discovery Diversity Programme is an opportunity open to all students that are two years away from graduation. The two-day insight programme offers students from underrepresented groups to explore career opportunities at Barclays.

What is Discovery?

Part 1

You’ll learn all about Barclays: who we are and what we do. You’ll also enjoy interacting with us through technical, soft skills and networking workshops.

Part 2

You will have the opportunity to be introduced to the next steps in order to kick start your career at Barclays. The programme may vary depending on the location.

Who’s this programme for?

The Barclays Discovery Diversity Programme is open to all students who are 2 years out from graduation. It’s an opportunity to explore the wide-ranging internship opportunities we offer, and secure a place on one of them. We target these opportunities particularly at key underrepresented groups in each of the regions where we run internship programmes.

The internships cover all kinds of roles and skills, so it doesn’t matter what degree you’re taking. For example, we offer a whole range of technology-focused programmes – so if you are an aspiring developer or an expert coder, you’ll discover a our technical opportunities.

For a long time, the conversation was focused on gender, but since Black Lives Matter we’ve been talking a lot more about race. Our Race at Work Charter gives us a clear way forward and we’re hiring a lot more diverse talent in Risk.

I majored in Organisation Theory and I was keen to put what I had learnt to use in a Banking environment. As I explored the cultures and offerings from different Banks, Barclays really stood out as the place that could provide everything I was looking for.
