In the heart of Glasgow, at the centre of our global business.

Barclays Glasgow is the engine of our Corporate and Investment Bank, and Shared Technology. With c.5,500 people in a wide range of roles, our teams in Glasgow play a leading role in our global operations and the work they do touches millions of lives every day.

Fittingly for a team that’s at the heart of the action, our Glasgow campus is right in the centre of the city, a short walk from Central Station, on the south of the Clyde. A 500,000 sq.ft. site across five beautifully designed buildings, our new campus is a truly remarkable place to work and be, rich with spaces to meet, eat and drink

Local opportunities, global impact.

We recruit people to join our Glasgow team at all levels and every career stage. The sheer variety of roles and business areas together on one campus opens up all kinds of career potential. And we offer lifelong opportunities for learning and mobility, so you can build a successful career, with global reach, right here in Scotland. We’re passionate about helping people from all walks of life, career backgrounds, experience and education levels to picture themselves here.

A landmark in regeneration.

Our multi-million investment in Glasgow shows our faith in the strength of the Scottish economy and the part we want to play in its future. That’s why we were so committed to making the campus a landmark in regeneration and a benchmark for sustainability in action. The development will have a long-term and transformative positive impact, regenerating Southside for everyone. We’re re-greening the area and planning a new city-centre park for everyone to enjoy.

A benchmark for sustainability.

Our Sustainability Centre uses air source heat pumps and solar panels to decarbonise our energy mix, saving an estimated 150-400 tonnes of carbon per year. So our campus is currently consuming 100% renewable electricity and we aim to be carbon zero by 2025. We also produce honey onsite from the bees who live at our apiary.

A place where you can belong.

Here you’ll find a welcoming and supportive place with a positive, inclusive culture and a strong sense of belonging. With people from across Scotland, and across the world, there’s a great sense of warmth and togetherness. And our culture supports you to bring your whole self to work, explore your potential and pursue your passions.

A campus that works for you

Our campus is a world-class, unconventional working environment, planned by colleagues for colleagues.  The state-of-the-art facilities are a springboard for collaboration and innovation, with a variety of spaces to meet, focus and get things done. Structured hybrid working patterns promote balance, flexibility and teamwork. While the overall environment is carefully curated to promote inclusivity, wellbeing and mindfulness for all. For example, we worked with Autism Scotland to create spaces that support neurodiversity.

Much more than just a workplace

We’ve designed our Glasgow campus to be a place where people enjoy spending time. A place for eating, socialising, and entertaining, as well as working. There’s always something new going on, with a constantly changing roster of events and activities from live singers to yoga classes and Secret Cinema screenings. There are amazing gym facilities and countless opportunities to learn, to taste something delicious, to try something new, to build relationships, to be part of something.

At the heart of the community.

Our Glasgow campus is the hub for Barclays’s citizenship programmes locally and comprises a number of public spaces that we offer to clients and community groups to hold events. This includes Eagle Labs, which anchors a public space for creativity and innovation. Meanwhile, we focus on using local suppliers and giving local businesses the chance to thrive on campus.

Making a difference every day.

We are a vibrant community and a genuine part of the wider communities that surrounds us. On average, Barclays colleagues have spent two hours every single day supporting local communities, societies and charities through our Make a Difference Days. And in 2023, our LifeSkills volunteers taught over 10,000 local young people critical employability skills.
