Payroll Specialist
Frankfurt

As a Barclays Payroll Specialist, you will have an exciting opportunity to be accountable for preparing all payroll related work across Barclays Branch in Germany, ensuring timely & accurate payments, controls and reporting. This includes the day-to-day payroll tasks as well as the review of all payroll-related processes, manual payments but also steering of relevant projects.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?
•    Ensuring timely and correct payroll including payroll-related services for assigned population in Germany taking into account local tax and social security laws and rules
•    Accounting for day-to-day steer of German suppliers for payroll or payroll-related activities
•    Being accountable for timely paid salaries including accountability for accesses to payment system and reconciliation of accounts (in collaboration with Finance teams)
•    Leading local company pension tasks like contact to external actuarial support, providing relevant information to colleagues and include payments in local payroll
•    Liaising with international payroll team and exchange information cross-border
•    Observing internal and external changes of payroll policies and standards as well as local laws
•    Steering multiple external payroll auditors (tax, social security, accounting auditors for relevant assessments) to ensure best outcome for all German branches of Barclays


What we’re looking for:
•    Experience in German payroll including knowledge of German income taxes and social security in Germany
•    Proficient use of HR systems like Datev/Lodas, SAP HR /HCM, Success Factors (or similar) and Microsoft Excel
•    Ability to effectively manage a high volume workload and showing good interpersonal skills with a high level of flexibility
•    Experience in management of third parties or external suppliers
