VP Japan Country Compliance


As a Barclays Vice President of Japan Country Compliance, you will be acting as a central body for country-wide regulatory compliance matters including management of regulatory interactions as well as maintenance and enhancement of Barclays Japan’s internal control framework. The function manages the risk associated with the regulatory regimes under which Barclays Japan carries on its business.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing interactions with various regulatory bodies backed by vast regulatory knowledge and deep understanding of our business
  • Acting as the lead member of the Project Management Office in case of regulatory inspections, making regular and ad-hoc regulatory filings and maintaining proper entity licensing for Barclays
  • Oversighting (and handling by self from time to time) of daily regulatory notification dissemination work
  • Leading the periodic monitoring meeting for regulatory and legislative changes among various stakeholders for tracking progress of required actions
  • Setting standards and providing guidance for country-wide regulatory topics such as privacy law, outsourcing governance, firewall regulation and client information handling
  • Managing reporting and local governance – timely coordination of periodic reporting of Compliance topics to BSJL’s Executive Committee and BBPLC TKY’s Management Committee

What we’re looking for:

  • Solid experience in financial industry as Compliance officer
  • Comprehensive understanding of local regulation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Extensive analytical skills and way of logical thinking
