Our Sales & Trading team works in a fast-paced, dynamic and exciting environment, quickly processing information and anticipating market trends to help clients make their next move.

Over your time as an analyst, you’ll develop a solid understanding of the global markets while building your communication, quantitative and analytical skills.

After intensive initial training, you will start your career as a salesperson or a trader on a specific desk in one of our business areas, including: Client Capital Management, Client Strategy, Commodities, Credit, eFICC Trading, Equities, Equity Financing, Foreign Exchange, Municipals, Rates, Structuring and Securitised Products.

As a Sales analyst, you’ll start by supporting your colleagues before taking on your own set of clients. You may:

• Analyse and develop solutions to clients’ needs
• Monitor markets and formulate trade ideas
• Perform various analysis on fundamental and technical data
• Attend client meetings or calls with traders, salespeople and research colleagues

As a Trading analyst, you may:

• Monitor markets and generate trade ideas
• Participate in pricing products
• Help out with daily tasks such as trade reporting or P&L analysis
• Assist with managing risk of the team’s trading books

1-2 year targeted, fast-track programme focused on developing specialist technical expertise.

Who we're looking for
To be considered for this programme, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree in any area. Language requirements: fluent in English and Spanish, desirable in German, Italian, French or other.


Ideally, you will have an interest in business and finance, a good work ethic and be keen to learn and develop a technical skill set.

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose of the role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the markets division providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for the global markets division.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participation in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for the global markets division.
  • Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions.
  • Management of the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support in decision making in the global markets division.
  • Training and mentoring of junior colleagues.

  • Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Make evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
