Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

Junior SSH Administrator role resides within the CSO Cryptography team, the individual will be responsible for the implementation and the on-going management of Universal Key Manager (UKM). Responsible to ensure SSH keys are compliant to Barclays standards.

What will you be doing?

•    Enforcing SSH Key compliance across the organisation.
•    Supporting UKM userbase with technical implementations and ensuring delivery in line with SLA.
•    Adhering to strict incident, change & release management process. 
•    Maintaining the organisations strategic toolset for SSH Key management.
•    Supporting SSH technical lead deliver on strategic goals and priorities. 
•    Implement scripting to automate tasks and increase efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

•    Understanding of SSH and SSH Keys
•    Experience in a Unix/Linux system administration or engineering role in an enterprise environment.
•    Expertise in Unix shell scripting and with other programming languages such as Python or Perl.
•    Knowledge of enterprise systems management tools (e.g. Jump-hosts, CMDB, SIEM, Load Balancers, configuration management)
•    Exposure to one or more other infrastructure platforms (Windows, Middleware, Networks, Databases, etc.).
•    Operational documentation creation and/or maintenance.
•    Experience of implementing automation to improve efficiency of teams, operations and services.
•    Understanding of change disciplines including change and release management and track record of delivering change projects in a timely manner with high quality. 
•    Understanding of incident response procedures and standards, strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex events to management. 
•    Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems. 
•    Able to translate underlying technology, security, and infrastructure concepts to business requirements. 
•    Demonstrated capability to develop scripts and other functionality which enhance or extend security tools.
•    Minimum education qualification-Graduate


Skills that will help you in the role:

•    IT Security & Project Management related professional qualification(s) 
•    Qualification in information systems, Computer science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical science
•    An awareness of the legal and regulatory requirements around information protection, cryptography and data leakage
•    Awareness of the service delivery impacts on confidentially, integrity and availability. 
•    Understanding of operational IT security monitoring and administration tools. 
•    Understanding of wider security and control environment.
