Join us as a ETL Engineer Lead at Barclays where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You'll harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionize our digital offerings, ensuring unapparelled customer experiences.

Key skills required for this role include:

  • Ab Initio ETL Engineering & Architecture (minimum 15+years of hands-on experience), supporting various modules within Ab Initio (e.g.BRE, Continuous Flows, PDLs, Conduct it, Compressed Lookup, ALF, Psets

  • Experience in implementing real time processing using different technologies (ETL/AbInito is key)

  • Very goodhands-on work experience on

  • Unix/Linux scripting

  • Oracle & MongoDB

  • Kafka & MQ

  • Strong Knowledge of theCustomer communications domain (both oneway and interactive) and hands-on experience in delivering communications including Digital notifications.

  • Experience in ETL Solution & Architecture and Data Profiling. Working experience with CTO/Architects on platform architecture.

  • Experience in Oracle Golden Gate Implementation for data migration and real time streaming.

  • Experience in working on 

  • new design patterns & reusable technical frameworks

  • performance improvement & optimization

  • different technical POCs

  • cost effective/saving solutions.

  • Very goodanalytical and problem-solving skills. Hands on experience in supporting productionincidents.

  • Work experience in implementation of APIintegration.

  • Experience in leading large ETL teams.

  • Demonstrated very strong level of technical expertise both within own area of responsibility and other IT domains

  • Has comprehensive understanding of full development lifecycle and is actively involved in all phases preferred

  • Has operated in roles facing off directly to senior Stakeholders/clients

  • Flexible to work in shifts (India and US timezones)

Good to have/valued skills:

  • AWS & Agile methodologies

  • Tools – ServiceNow & Jira

  • Banking & Cards domain experience

  • Work experience in using different ETL technologies & ability to analyzeand recommend the best

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

This role is based in Chennai.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. 

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
  • Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
