Join Marketing at Barclays to create integrated marketing strategies for Barclays. Your efforts will focus on planning, budgeting, and maximising ROI to enhance brand positioning and achieve commercial growth.

Join us as Web Product Manager (WPM) – this position plays a vital role in managing the company’s public-facing websites. Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams and end-users, the WPM drives strategy, prioritises the roadmap and ensures effective execution.

This role requires close collaboration with developers, MarTech, marketing, legal, compliance and data privacy teams. The WPM gathers stakeholder input, communicates priorities, and works closely with other Web Product Owners across the Bank to align and influence digital strategy.

The WPM owns the feature backlog and development runway, prioritising high-impact work and supporting issue resolution. They apply insights from research, analytics and A/B testing to improve UX and drive engagement.

Operationally the WPM manages content updates (using Adobe Experience Manager), monitors performance metrics, drives ongoing improvements, and oversees budgets for development, hosting, and third-party tools.

The role is responsible for guaranteeing website adherence to all applicable regulations e.g.  PECR, GDPR, WCAG, EAA, CCPA, consumer duty, etc. and internal governance and accessibility standards, and conducting annual audits.

To be successful as a Web Product Manager, you should have:

  • Experience with enterprise AEM CMS (must-have will not consider any candidate without AEM experience).
  • Agile and backlog management – Managing complex stakeholder requirements, drive Agile workflows with dev teams. (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Regulatory and compliance – Strong grasp of regulations governing FS and website maintenance including data privacy.
  • Excellent grasp of website analytics systems, reporting and actionable insight generation. (Adobe Analytics).
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, balance business and technical requirements.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate complex technologies to both technical and non-technical minded team members.
  • Solid knowledge of web technical landscape, able to advise on digital trends, industry best practice and competitors.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Understanding of SEO best practice. (has experience with Google Search Console).
  • Solid understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organisation with offshore teams.

Key projects you will lead in 2025:

  • Rollout of a new component library and refreshed visual design.
  • Onboarding and managing a new cookie consent vendor and solution (OneTrust).

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement, and manage digital marketing platform and channels, including the management of the website, social media channels and marketing technology platforms

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of digital marketing strategies that aligns with the banks business objectives and are informed by market research, customer needs and competitive landscape.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, communications, and IT, to ensure alignment of digital marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Development of compelling and targeted content for various marketing channels, optimising of online content for search engines to improve organic search visibility and managing paid search campaigns for driving targeted traffic and conversion goals, as required.
  • Analysis of data to make informed decisions and optimize marketing strategies, use of data analytics tools to measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Management of marketing technology platforms, where applicable.
  • Management and updating of digital marketing platform and channels such as website and social media channels, as needed.
  • Development of compelling and targeted content for various marketing channels, inclusive of partner channels and assets, where applicable.

They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
  • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
