Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven leadership experience within Markets Technology RTB / Production Support organizations.
  • Strong experience supporting mission-critical trading or financing platforms within a high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong incident management, problem management, operational risk, and service management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams and operate effectively within a global organization.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and influencing skills.
  • Strong understanding of Unix/Linux, databases, networking, and infrastructure fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Financing/Repo, or Synthetic Financing platforms. And if not, then a proven track record as Cash, Derivatives or Fixed Income lead.
  • Scripting, automation, engineering experience (basic software development experience is a plus)
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation technologies to improve operational efficiency and platform supportability.
  • Experience working across regional and global support organizations.

The APAC Liquid Financing (LF) RTB team is responsible for managing and supporting the production environment for Barclays' Liquid Financing technology platforms.

This is a senior hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the stability, resilience, and operational excellence of the APAC Liquid Financing technology estate. The successful candidate will lead the regional RTB organization, provide exceptional support to business stakeholders, drive AI-enabled operational improvements, build trusted relationships across business, operations and technology functions.

This is not a traditional Production Support Manager role to solve only for day to day operations, but a role that will uplift the stability and client / user experience of the platforms. 

Supporting one of Barclays' largest APAC business, the role covers Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Financing/Repo, Synthetic Financing, Inventory Management, Borrow/Loan Trading, Collateral Management, Funding & Liquidity, and associated client-facing platforms.

In addition to leading RTB activities, the successful candidate will act as a proactive technology partner to the business, driving platform adoption, workflow optimization, automation, and operational efficiency improvements.

The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader and business partner, capable of owning the platform end-to-end with limited management oversight while developing future talent and driving continuous improvement across the production environment.

Key Accountabilities

Innovation, Production Stability & Operational Excellence

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the APAC Liquid Financing production environment.
  • Ensure stability, availability, and resilience of mission-critical financing and trading platforms.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled solutions for automation, root cause analysis, preventive monitoring, capacity planning, and operational efficiency.
  • Own incident, crisis, and problem management processes, driving measurable improvements in platform stability.
  • Lead complex issue triage and coordinate resolution across development, infrastructure, vendor, and business teams.
  • Drive proactive monitoring, resiliency improvements, capacity planning, and operational excellence initiatives.

Leadership & Organization Development

  • Lead, mentor and develop the regional Liquid Financing RTB team.
  • Manage and develop direct reports while fostering a high-performance culture built on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with teams to establish a unified HK-Pune-Global operating model.
  • Reduce knowledge concentration risk through succession planning, documentation, training, and knowledge sharing.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary technology partner for Liquid Financing business stakeholders across APAC.
  • Build trusted relationships across Securities Lending, Financing/Repo, Synthetic Financing, Prime Services, Operations, Middle Office, Risk & Control, and senior technology leadership.
  • Provide clear and effective communication during production incidents, major events, and senior management escalations.

Strategic Business Enablement

  • Partner with business stakeholders to maximize adoption and utilization of existing platform capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow optimization, process simplification, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Drive automation of manual processes and promote AI-enabled operational practices.
  • Support business growth by helping stakeholders leverage strategic technology capabilities already available within the firm's global platform estate.
  • Promote data-driven decision making through improved use of technology, analytics, and platform insights.

Risk, Regulatory & Governance

  • Ensure technology risks are identified, assessed, and appropriately managed.
  • Support regulatory reviews, audits, control assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Maintain compliance with Barclays policies, standards, and enterprise risk management requirements.

Within the first 12-18 months, the successful candidate will:

  • Establish themselves as the trusted technology partner to the APAC Liquid Financing business.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in platform stability, resilience, and operational performance.
  • Strengthen business confidence through exceptional stakeholder management and service delivery.
  • Build a strong, integrated HK-Pune-Global operating model.
  • Reduce knowledge concentration risk and develop leadership capability within the team.
  • Drive increased automation, AI adoption, workflow optimization, and platform utilization across the business.
